Hello Fellows! 

The campaign we made together last year was incredible, and I want to thank you all for that. Together we brought to reality the most innovative watch in crowdfunding, the DWISS M2, and it has been incredibly AWESOME. High five!!!

As you all probably know, exactly one week ago, we published our new campaign on Kickstarter, presenting the greatest crowdfunding watch ever !!! In just FOUR minutes, we reached our goal and we are now moving on to our next stretch goal. I came here to invite you all to join our next endeavor, and to create with us the collection that will forever be part of crowdfunding watchmaking history.

Please share your ideas with us, give us your opinions, and let’s build the collection together, just like we did with the last campaign. Every week we will broadcast a give-away (Sweepstake open to backers only) and assemble a watch prototype on KICKSTARTER LIVE. Come watch us, and pledge on your own great DWISS timepiece. We are glad to share with our backers that we have won another design award with the project DWISS M2. After the ePDA (Europen Product Design Award) with a ceremony held in the European Parliament in April, we have won the IDA – International Design Award. The ceremony will happen in LA this month.

We like to thank you all because without you, this couldn’t have happened.

THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The IDA Juries have finalized this year's annual Design Awards winners selections

LOS ANGELES, May 08 2017 Los Angeles, Rafael Simoes Miranda From DWISS in Switzerland was awarded.

IDA honorary juries examined over 1000 entries submitted by architects and designers of interiors, fashion, products, and graphics from 52 countries throughout the world. After final decisions had been made, the jury rewarded the best professional and emerging designers for their achievements in terms of design, creativity, usability and innovation. Judging was a rigorous process, with winners receiving publication of their work in the International Design Awards Book of Designs. The coveted IDA Trophy will be awarded to all Designer of the Year title winners at the official biennial International Design Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.

This annual competition recognizes, honors and promotes legendary design visionaries and uncovers emerging talents in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design on global level.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A bold eccentric Swiss made timepice in 316L stainless steel. Composed of 9 parts and 23 screws with an exclusive sandwich construction fixed by the side screws. It uses a mechanical automatic ETA 2824-2 Swiss movement, it's water resistance up to 10 ATM and have pioneering and innovative way of reading the time, using a simple movement to create a "complication" without using expensive techniques to change the movement itself, but creating the unique representation of time by a simple disc and a multi layered dial.

ABOUT Rafael Simoes Miranda:

Product oriented design entrepreneur, since 2003 in industrial design field, specialized in watches and luxury goods, graduated at Istituto Europeo di Design, master degree in industrial design at Scuola Politecnica di Design, and advanced studies in Marketing Strategy at University of Genève. Awarded with some of the world's most important design awards including Red Dot Design Award and IDA – International Design Award, have been a teacher in watch design at IED – Milan. Entrepreneur and founder of the watch brand DWISS, a pioneering brand for exclusive watches, such as the world’s first Niobium watch. Design and develop products for brands such as Versace, Valentino, Ferragamo, Bertolucci, Bulova, Timex, Philip watch, Hitachi, Schuster, and many others, including a limited edition watch for Sir. Richard Branson. Some publications appear in Vogue, Elle, Interni, and newspapers like O Globo and Corriere della sera.

CONCLUSION AND THE AWARD IN THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

It has been a great adventure and we THANK YOU all for helping us in this campaign and making our mission so successful.

Last week we had the honor to be in the European Parliament to receive the gold award granted by the ePDA (European Product Design Award), in the luxury products category.

We are glad to say that with your help we produced the only ever crowdfunded watch to receive an important award like this one.

 

But let’s stop with all this chitchat, what some of you are really expecting is the final delivery of the watches, right? Most of you have already received it and the feedback is always impressively awesome. This just make the ones that are waiting for it looking even further for it.

So, here it goes: in April 25, we will receive the balance of the watches, and we will be sending them in the last week of April. 

You’ll first receive a communication to confirm whether your information is right and after the confirmation, the tracking number of your shipment. The watches with odd numbers are Topgrade and the ones with even numbers are Elabore. Your backer number does not represent the number of your watch.

Note that few backers were contacted directly by email to solve some issues regarding the black model (specially the ABY with yellow strap). So, if you are one of these and have any questions please write to us at [email protected].
